Roof services in
Founded during the building boom in the 1960’s, EG Swingler & Sons have been working on new builds, old domestic dwellings, commercial properties, listed buildings, and church roofs in and around the Northamptonshire area since 1964. (We also cover a 50 mile radius.) As a highly respected business, our company policy has always been one of customer satisfaction whether large or small. With a portfolio of satisfied customers, the majority of our work is repeat contracts from construction companies and local authorities. Much of the private work we undertake is from recommendation by other clients.
With over 50 years experience of all forms of roofing, much of our work in the Northampton area involves projects on large stately homes, church buildings of all denominations, and work on listed buildings for English Heritage.
No matter how big or small the job, whether a leaking gutter; or changing from a porous slate roof to a new tiled one, contact us today. If it’s to do with roofing – it’s to do with E G Swingler & Sons.

E.G. Swingler have been supplying and fitting all types of roof tiles for over 50 years. From complete renewal of tiled roofs to the replacement of small areas of damaged tiles. As well as supplying roof tiles we are able to offer complementary fittings, such as ridge tiles, hips and decorative finials.
A good quality slate roof can be expected to last longer than most other roof coverings, typically they will last over 100 years if there is no physical damage. We supply and fit all types of slates to buildings new and old and provide a full turnkey service for all your roofing needs.
Lead-work is an age-old skill still used on modern and period buildings since Roman times. We have staff who have been lead working for over 25 years using both sand cast and milled lead. Our skilled workers can repair and replace lead on any type of building.
The condition and design of your guttering is very important to the exterior and interior condition of your building. Poorly designed or blocked rainwater goods can erode exterior walls and can also cause dampness within your property.
Whether you have a listed building, a new build or a public building, we can carry out all types of repairs. Including; lead work, timber work and complete stripping and re-felting of roofs. Our work is approved by all insurers so please do not hesitate to request emergency repairs or quotes.
Our renovation service covers all aspects of your roof. This includes tiling, slating, fascias, guttering, ridges, flashings, hips and architectural lead features. We have experience in renovating roofs for period and listed homes. From quaint cottages to stately homes throughout the country.
Our first church roof repair was in Northamptonshire in 1964! We regularly work with conservation officers and architects to ensure any repairs are correct as church roofs can be complex. Many of our tradesmen have been roofing for over 30 years and have traditional skills and techniques
Public buildings are large scale, and roofing repairs can be major. Whether its a completely new roof for a town hall or repairs to a museum chimney, all our work is carried out with a minimum of disruption. We work with architects, structural engineers and local authority building control.
At Swingler Roofing we specialise in listed buildings. Roofs on listed buildings not only shelter us from the weather, but are part of the property’s history. We understand this, whether it’s a quick repair or a full new roof we use old traditional techniques and authentic materials.
